Mehdi Fallahian’s artistic process is truly unique. He doesn’t just paint a scene; he captures the essence of the atmosphere around him. His brushstrokes aim to convey not just the visual aspects but also the climate, the touch, and all the sensory elements. This is the multi-dimensional experience he wishes his paintings to evoke.
Mehdi Fallahian’s artistic journey began at a remarkably young age of ten. Growing up in Tehran, Iran, he was fortunate to be in the company of Mr. Abedini, a renowned scholar and painter. Under Mr. Abedini's tutelage, Mehdi was introduced to the power and scope of color through impressionistic lenses. He started painting alongside Mr. Abedini, studying the works of the great French Impressionists and the great Russian artists.
Mehdi’s dedication to his craft is evident in his participation in numerous workshops with well-known American Plein Air artists, including Matt Smith, Charles Sovek, John Budicin, George Stricklen, and Ron Rancher.
Mehdi, whose schooling was in nuclear engineering, never ventured far from his true passion for the arts. Over the last thirty years, he has painted out of doors in true Plein Air fashion. He has continued to nurture his dream of someday having a place magnificent enough to create an atmosphere where all could truly be inspired. Mehdi has extensively traveled the world, meeting like-minded artists who share with him that very vision, a gathering destination for those who want peace, camaraderie, and rest from the demands that everyday living creates. He has lovingly restored an old farmhouse built in 1897 into a historic replica of the past. This house has become that gathering place.
“I see my art as a way a person can connect with nature, the force that keeps us grounded and in touch with who we are and in harmony with our natural surroundings.”
