Snohomish Studio Tour

This last weekend of September 28 th and 29 th was the second annual Snohomish Studio Tour of 2024. We participated last year and had an even higher turnout this year! Over 150 guests came to tour and look at the artwork. There were 11 studios on the tour in Snohomish and the outskirts of town. The tour even offered a free shuttle bus that took guests to the different studios. The art varied from studio to studio: acrylics, sculptures, watercolors, pottery, jewelry, mixed mediums, and more! Like last year at my studio/gallery, I had my paintings out and displayed, organized by the countries I have traveled to, and have had opportunities to paint outdoors. This event gave me a dose of creative energy, which is just what I needed to embrace the chillier autumn nights that have snuck up on us in the last few weeks. This power and uplift of energy I refer to comes from other artists and all the rich conversations surrounding the topic of art. The two days felt alive and exciting, something we can all relate to when we often isolate ourselves by being creative and working on our art pieces. I need to remember, on those long solo painting days, the time, the meals, and the day-to-day stuff we call fillers, which are the glue of structure and reason. With this incredible event, the apple cobbler made with our apple trees and the blueberry one, picked from our blueberry patch, filled up hungry bellies, and my stone pizza oven kept people smiling and viewing the grounds and the art. I am already looking forward to next year as the summer will surely fade into autumn.
